Something isn't right here. Ever year Sony release their fiscal reports with total hardware and software sold. Last time I checked that had an average of 5 games per console. And yet the hardware sales are rarely epic in the US but seemingly are very good in the UK. The software sales are less impressive although good but you rarely see them in the Top 10 in the UK or US or Japanese charts. Sony are massive in general in PAL (meaning the Middle East, Africa, Europe etc). Perhaps we should giv...
I don't understand why people are still talking about the importance of exclusives. The PS3 has arguably the most impressive set of exclusives, especially this year, and it has no noticeable impact on hardware sales. The only franchise/game that would now make a difference if it were exclusive was Madden or FIFA and that's not going to happen.
A FF7 PS3 exclusive would have no impact on the PS3. The Final Fantasy fans are already getting a PS3.
Judging from NPD, I guess the 360 was sold out then so they went for the alternative. Can't come back home with nothing for the kids
One bubble? Lmao. You've been making less than positive remarks about Sony/PS3 huh?
2007 - Year of the PS3
2008 - Year of the PS3
2009 - Year of the PS3
2010 - Year of the PS3
Lets be honest here, some people will always feel X year belongs to one group or the other. Here it's just that every year its hyped up to Sony's year. In terms of what? Sales? Game releases?
What happened GT?
It won't sell sadly. I'd love to play this though.
360 can be pirated = BAD
Microsoft bans pirates = BAD
What do people want here?
Honestly, Forza is just a hardcore market. Personally, racing games in general don't make a hardware/software impact (other than Gran Turismo).
If Uncharted 2 cant even chart the Top 20 then I never want to see PS3 fans here giving bullet point list of 1st party exclusives when talking about sales.
This will be the greatest game of all time. BELIEVE
I just want to underscore a point regarding the NPD numbers. Ever since Gears of War launched a few years ago and gained massive sales numbers, and then Lost Planet, we have come to expect blockbuster sales in the first month of triple-A games. So when we see Modern Warfare 2 with 1.87million sold for the PlayStation 3, we forget to realise that the console has reportedly half of the install base of the 360 - despite being shocked by Modern Warfare 2 selling twice as much on that platform. S...
Microsoft have a policy where they do large bannings at once throughout periods in the year and that timing hasn't changed. Whether or not they intentionally planned to do bannings before the holidays to increase sales is irrelevant. The fact is
1. People shouldn't be modding their consoles in the first place. This is one of the areas where Sony has invested alot in and to this day the PS3 is still mod-free. Plenty of people here praise Sony for this and criticise Microsoft for n...
To be fair, everyone here talks a lot of BS
Where is Uncharted 2?
Anyway, considering the ratio of userbase and software sold the two consoles did generally similar in regards to MW2. If the 360 outsells the PS3 again in December, well then people will have to re-evaluate where they expect to see the PS3 settle this generation.
I'm glad the 360 did well. It's a great games console.
There are around 5million people on the Leaders on Xbox Live alone. There are bound to people a few idiots cheating. That is just the sad reality of games these days.
You made me laugh out at 3am. Nice
You mean December 08 right
Metacritic just averages scores given out by reviewers. How can they be criticised? If a game is getting low scores, then it'll get a low average. Metacritic didn't give out that score but the reviewers did.
I've been to the US a few times. Each time I was detained for "extra screening". I would ask and then demand why the reason was, causing me to miss my connecting flights. I later learnt that due to the country of my birth, every one born there have to go through extra screening. Because a 21 year old seeing his fiancée is obviously a terror threat.
Never going back there again. Bloody joke of a system.
